NAADSM

NAADSM

We were originally approached by the Animal Health Population Institute at Colorado State University in 2006 to develop the NAADSM project, a veterinary contagious disease epidemiologic modeling application. The site was designed to be minimalistic in design, focusing on the ease of providing information to support the application. The NAADSM development team continues to relies on us to provide a site that distributes, documents and supports the application. Members of the team manage their respective site content without needing any special skills or software. In addition to the visible site, there is a tremendous amount of functionality restricted to team members and application users, invisible to the anonymous site visitor (someone not logged in).

The main site includes:

  • support forums
  • bug tracker
  • collection of testing files
  • conference call management system
  • integration with pre-existing custom databases

NAADSM Parameter Library
The Parameter Library was a year-long development project for Colorado State University and the US Department of Agriculture that allows users to develop, store and share their parameter values and supporting documentation for the NAADSM application. An intensive application, this was large, complex, and heavily dependent on user permissions. Highlights include:

  • Over 50 input forms
  • Parent-child structure to relate parameter values
  • User permissions based on user's role per each parameter value or parent project
  • Ability to handle files up to 100MB in size
  • Full bibliographic application
